Wintergreen’s tubing park, The Plunge, offers both winter and summer tubing adventures.

Be ready to jump in your tube at the top of the 900-foot track and sail to the bottom. You could reach speeds up to 30 MPH before reaching the bottom and getting on the lift to do it all over again.

Choose between racing a friend down the track or hooking your tubes together at the top. Then enjoy the fun and thrills together all the way down.

The recommended age for The Plunge is 6+years old, and children must be at least 42 inches tall.

Those who don’t meet the requirements or wish for a somewhat slower speed can head to Wintergreen’s Ridgely’s Fun Park, where there is a tot-sized hill for tubing.

Advanced reservations are a must. Tickets go on sale each Sunday morning for the next week. Tickets often sell out, so make your reservations early.

Massanutten Resort’s Family Adventure Park offers both day and night (Northern Lights Snow Tubing) tubing down their 16 lanes of tracks that descend 900 feet and drop 120 vertical feet.

Choose between tubing down solo and racing other guests, or link up with friends or family to create a tube train and ride the hill together.

If you can’t make it to the mountain this winter, plan on a summer vacation where you can enjoy summer tubing on the 600-foot track that has two lanes of fun.

Liberty Mountain’s Boulder Ridge has 15 snow-covered tubing lanes that children five and up can enjoy zipping down and then take the lift back up to the top to do it all over again.

For those with small children, head to Pebble Ridge for kiddie tubing. Here children ages 2-4 can enjoy unlimited tubing in a special area.

If you are looking for the longest and fastest tubing lanes, then head to “the 34” in the Pocono Mountains at Blue Mountain Resort. Here you will be tubing over 1,000 feet before you have to jump on one of the three lifts to do your next run.

You won’t have to attach tubes to form a train to go down the track with a friend. Here you can grab a double tube and enjoy the ride together.

Another advantage to tubing Blue Mountain is their tubing sessions are three hours long instead of the usual 1-2 hours.

Head north on I-70, and between Hagerstown and Hanco*ck, you will find the perfect place to have an adventure tubing. The beautiful Whitetail Resort is just over the Pennsylvania line and a quick and easy day trip from D.C.

So, pack the car for a great day trip or weekend adventure and enjoy two hours of tubing. Here you won’t even have to walk back up the hill as you did as a kid. They have a Magic Carpet lift to take you back up to do it all over again.

For the little tikes who are under five years old, they can enjoy the day on smaller tubes on the tots hill. Unfortunately, you will have to walk up the hill and parents can only watch after climbing to the top.

When you need to warm up or take a break, the Mountain View Lodge is a great place to warm up around the cozy fireplace and to grab a bite to eat.

The park features both single and tandem tube lanes. The tandem lanes are perfect for adults with children under 46 inches tall.

Two conveyors will provide a ride to the top of the mountain and eliminate the climb.

Each tubing session is 1½ hours.
